In XXXX my deceased husband and I opened a joint checking account. That account came with a lock box. In XXXX when my husband XXXX XXXX died I went into the branch and closed that account. I established my own account in XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, 7 years later Chase bank took money out of my individual account. They stated that it was past due fees for the lock box that was closed in XXXX. There was never one correspondence in the past 7 years that would indicate that lock box was open, and was not closed at the time the account was closed. Chase gave no warning and took money from my individual account at another branch, without following laws regarding debt collection. The bank has the debt listed in my deceased husband 's name. They have been unable to present any documentation that would allow them to debit my account for for this money.. They sent a letter after they debited that completely omitted my deceased husband 's name from the debt when they took the money from my account. I have uploaded the only correspondence, that has been sent to me regarding this box, they have omitted my deceased husband 's name from this document. They literally just attached this lockbox to my current account after 7 years.
