I am a victim of Identity theft. In XXXX I noticed my credit score dropping and discovered that an account I did not know about was in default. In XXXX of XXXX someone named XXXX XXXX with a XXXX address, apparently opened a Citibank credit card account using my identity. They charged {$470.00} to the card which then was closed in XX/XX/XXXX with an outstanding amount of {$700.00}. I immediately filed a police report with my local XXXX, XXXX Police ( Case # XXXX ) and filled an Identity Theft Report with the FTC ( XXXX # XXXX ). I reported the incident to XXXX and XXXX and I notified Citibank. XXXX has removed the account from my report as of XX/XX/XXXX. However XXXX has failed to remove the information from my credit report. I disputed it in XXXX and again in XXXX of XXXX, providing the FTC report and Police report, but XXXX says that when they contacted Citibank, Citibank says the charges are valid. I am unable to reach Citibank. I tried again today and they just gave me the Identitytheft.gov website and phone number.
