I purchased an item online from XXXX. My account got charged a price higher than the price I confirmed. When I reached out to the merchant, letting them know that I did not want the item anymore because it was higher than the price agreed upon, the merchant forged some documentation showing that the price that I paid for the item was indeed the price listed for the product. When I brought to light that their response wasnt true, the merchant escalated my complaint to a higher department to address the issue. Instead of addressing my issue, the higher department simply said that I wasnt eligible for a refund. Mind you, at this time the product had not even been shipped to me yet. Because this was fraud, I contacted my bank. When I contacted Citibank in XXXX to open a dispute, they told me that they were going investigate my claim. They eventually closed my claim saying that they didnt have enough information on my part to substantiate my claim. When I found out that my claim was closed, I immediately contacted Citibank and told them that if they needed more information, all they had to do was contact me. I then demanded that they reopen my case by filing an appeal. In the appeal I attached all the emails between the merchant and I, which clearly showed that they REFUSED to address the fact that the price I agreed upon for the item was different from the price that I was charged. I just found out that Citibank sided with the merchant again. When I asked why, they told me that the merchant simply told them I wasnt eligible for a refund. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FRAUD THAT OCCURRED. I WAS TOLD AN ITEM WAS ONE PRICE BUT CHARGED A WAY HIGHER PRICE. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY BEFORE THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED TO ME. THE COMPANY DISREGARDED MY COMPLAINT AND SHIPPED THE ITEM ANYWAY. THEY ALSO NEVER ADDRESSED ME BEING CHARGED A HIGHER PRICE!!!! HOW CAN MY COMPLAINT OF FRAUD ON THE MERCHANTS END BE DENIED WITHOUT EVER ADDRESSING WHY I WAS CHARGED A HIGHER PRICE?
