On XX/XX/2022 my wallet was stolen from my purse in a grocery store. Shortly thereafter I received a text from Citi Bank questioning whether a {$2100.00} purchase at Macy 's was mine. I replied no and called the phone number supplied. I reported that the card was stolen and answered their questions. I also contacted the XXXX, NC police dept. and reported the theft. I received a case number. In early XXXX ( don't recall the exact date ) I got a call from Citi asking me to call them. I did so and further answered their questions. In the coming weeks, I got email telling me that the dispute was being looked into. Then I heard nothing. Our credit card payment ( this is a CitiBank XXXX XXXX ) was due on XX/XX/XXXX. When I went to view the statement I saw in the dispute center that Citi was declining to credit the XXXX back to the account. I immediately called and spoke with a woman named XXXX who took notes and told me I had to call the fraud department again on XX/XX/XXXX. I did that and spoke with XXXX. I told him the whole story again ( for the XXXX time ) and he said it would have to go back to the investigators. He told me the reason they declined to credit the account was that I did not supply information they wanted. But he had the record that I had called in early XXXX. I looked this morning and I see no information except that they are declining to pay. It is time for me to escalate this.
