Home Depot-CITI card number* was used to make a purchase. I received a message on my phone asking if I had made the purchase ; obviously CITI realized there was an issue. I responded no and they said it would be taken care of. My bill, however, still showed the charge. They assured me that sometimes it takes awhile to be removed. Eventually, there was another charge, and the same scenario played out. This time though, the charge was against the new card number* they just sent me, that I hadn't used at all. *Both purchases were made on the card number in my name, however, the cards were in my possession. It appears the fraud was from within CITI itself. I contacted the 3 credit reporting agencies to freeze my credit and was contacted by a rep from XXXX ; she made a 3-way call to XXXX-CITI who agreed to investigate. They sent me a letter confirming this XX/XX/22. On XX/XX/22 I received a letter stating they confirmed the charges were fraudulent and would be removed from my account, including any interest, etc. In XXXX, CITI sent my account to collections and negatively affected my credit, first, by XXXX pts, then XXXX pts in XXXX. CITI refuses to speak to me and has blocked my acct.
