In XXXX we traveled to the XXXX XXXX for vacation. While there, our CitiCard/CitiBank credit card was used against our will ; we were detained by a manager of a resort who used our card to process a payment for the entire resort stay, even though it had been prepaid in advance. We were held against our will for several hours, missed our flight back to the XXXX and were threated with being arrested if we didn't allow the manager to process the credit card with the fraudulent charge. The card was charged, and we were released. As soon as I was in a van heading to the airport I contacted CITI to advise we had been blackmailed and forced to use the card. Citibank said they would look into it, but eventually said they would not reverse the fraudulent charge. We advised Citi we were not going to pay for a fraudulent charge, and that this was covered under the terms of our credit agreement with them. A few months later, I lost my job when my employer closed their business. I contacted all of my creditors to make payment arrangement, including Citi. All other creditors agreed to close my account, stop interest accrual and accept payments for the balance. Citi refused to make any concession and because they refused to remove any of the fraudulent charges made in the XXXX I decided to use my limited resources to pay the creditors who were trying to work with me. Since the beginning of XXXX I've been working full time, and my income has increased substantially over the years. I have attempted several times to contact Citi to try to negotiate payment of the charge off, but they do not have the account and can not provide me with any information about who the account has been sold to. They continue to report the CO on my credit under their own name, with no information about who owns the debt. This is negatively impacting my credit and my business.
