For the third time within the last few weeks, Citibank used fraud protection as a reason to prevent me from using my card to make purchases well within my established credit limit. This last time on XX/XX/2022, we had even notified Citibank that we were traveling so they would be aware. This even shows up in the app that we are on this trip. In all 3 cases, it took several phone calls to clear the fraud alert. The app asked if it was us, but didnt believe us, telling us we needed to call. Citibank is using extreme fraud protection as an excuse to prevent me from buying things at a destination store. Previously, Citibank prevented us from booking travel. In both situations, we simply used our Amex to complete the transactions. However, we missed out on additional points that we should have been able to earn.
