Consumer Narrative

I started receiving calls from a group called Collections USA out of XXXX, AZ. This is from a judgment on an eviction that I had back in XXXX. Because their client XXXX XXXX XXXX gave me bedbugs on two occasions. That's the reason for the eviction. I have spoken with them about this and have for years, despite repeated calls to try to get me to pay the amount. I have told them that I do not have the money and that I owe other debts and that when I get those paid off that I would get to them when it's their place in line. I have told them that I do not want to pay it out of principal on account of the bedbugs. Which is neither here, nor there. During the last couple weeks, I have needed to find housing for myself and my credit is getting ran and they were possibly spoken to by the new apartment leasing company that I applied to - I don't know? But what I do know is that their calls started on XX/XX/XXXX and they called again on XX/XX/XXXX ( I didn't pick up either time ). These calls are coinciding at the same time I am looking for an apartment. Then on the same day XX/XX/XXXX I received a notification from my XXXX credit reporting app that I had another collections account added to my report and I looked and it's COLLECTIONS USA, again. This time saying that it's for the same debt, but for the {$3.00} difference in interest that the court taxes on every month ( the interest I have known about all along and another of their coercion tactics ). But it's saying that this account is from XX/XX/XXXX??? Why is there the original one on there from XX/XX/XXXX too?? This is where I have a problem. It is intimidation on their part and they shouldn't be allowed to conduct business this way if that's how they conduct business. I called and left a voicemail on Friday XX/XX/XXXX and told them to contact me immediately. It had turned into Monday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX and I hadn't heard from them and so I contacted them to see why they would put that other flag on there and they told me that " they didn't know? '' but that " they could garnish my wages ''. I told them that I had already done this song and dance with them and that what they was saying wouldn't work. They then said they would have their billing department " look into it '' and " get back to me ''. I then proceeded to tell them that I would be contacting XXXX XXXX for hire ( which I have ) because I felt that this was " probably not legal ''. XXXX XXXX has stated that they have " dealt with them before '' and that it " isn't surprising what they're doing ''. This is why I am filing this complaint against them, along with getting representation. They are predatory and advantageous at best and I would like them to leave me alone about this and I would like to see that they and the debt go away for their borderline fraudulent activities.
