Consumer Narrative

On the evening of XX/XX/XXXX, someone successfully used my debit card ( likely through XXXX XXXX ) for XXXX $ at the XXXX XXXX store in XXXX, XXXX Then someone tried to use it in a XXXX store. I received an email from Chase bank that someone is trying to make a purchase for XXXX $ at a XXXX store. I selected the option that it was " not me '' and then called the Chase bank. The transaction was blocked and hence my card was also blocked. Then within the next hour, I received an email that someone from XXXX XXXX phone number XXXX by the nickname of XXXX XXXX was added as a recipient in my Chase bank XXXX account. I immediately logged in to my Chase Bank mobile application and removed that recipient as I knew that someone was trying to do fraud, especially when my card had already been used within the last one hour. I called my bank and they told me that the XXXX transactions which the fraudster was trying to make were blocked. My Chase mobile app access was blocked and I was told to go to a Chase branch. After a day or two, I was able to go to one of the Chase branches near my apartment in XXXX, Michigan. There, I found out that XXXX out of XXXX XXXX transactions went through ( the third one out of the XXXX transactions in order of their timing ). It was for XXXX XXXX My bank opened a claim and gave me a temporary credit of XXXX XXXX Later, my bank sent me a letter dated XX/XX/2022 stating that they have taken credit of XXXX $ back from me as they said that they did not find any evidence of fraud on their review. The bank manager helped me in pursuing my case and an inquiry was opened. My Case manager from Chase bank wanted me to file a police report in the territory of the phone number XXXX which is XXXX XXXX. I have filed a police report both in XXXX as well as XXXX. I recently got a call from the Chase Bank case manager that the decision from the Bank remains unchanged after their investigation. At this point, I feel like the bank is not trying to help me and I feel lost. They do not give me any other reasoning except for the fact that an IP address was used near to my area and that a face ID was used. I have no idea how that happened and I also do not know why the Bank was not able to stop these transactions especially when they already knew that there had been fraudulent activity happening on my account earlier that day. I would really appreciate it if you can help me in this regard and assist me in getting my hard-earned {$500.00} back. I am attaching all the relevant files of evidence along with the three letters dated XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX respectively from the Chase bank denying my claim. I am happy to provide any further information if required.
