My account as of today is currently negative {$430.00}. Before it reached this amount I called the bank and asked if they would reject any incoming payments since the account was negative. The rep said they mostly do besides ACH payments- they typically go through. I told her I didn't select the overdraft protection because I wanted to avoid digging myself deeper in a hole when I have limited funds. This will only hurt me when I get paid again when I'm trying to survive! It doesn't hurt the bank to deny these payments, it just leaves it up to the customer to figure this out on their own.
