My account has an {$8000.00} balance, in XXXX unbeknownst to me I exceeded my credit limit. I have to Citibank cards and one has texts alerts on it but the AA card did not. Citibank allowed another {$1600.00} to charged to my account even though I exceeded my credit limit. I thought credit limits stopped you from charging more purchases. Isnt that why its called a credit limit? You are limited to that amount of $ $ to spend. According to Citibank that is just their threshold of when you are then required to pay 100 % of the overcharges as your minimum due. The XX/XX/XXXX statement reflected XXXX + 1 % of total amount... .yet on XX/XX/XXXX my balance was {$2000.00} until I made a payment of {$9900.00}, which reduced my balance to {$60.00}. Over the next 3 weeks I charged {$1800.00}. My monthly autopay is set up to pay the minimum due, yet my bank account was charged {$1800.00}, which my bank denied due to NSF and now I have a NSF fee from the bank and in 30mins of talking on the phone and another hour on webchat with Citibank they will not reverse the payment and tell me its my fault because I went over my limit in XXXX and THEY kept allowing me to charge another {$2000.00} - that's 25 % of my total credit line. This is UNFAIR, DECEPTIVE, and ABUSIVE practices.
