I've been fighting with Continental finance company for over a year about fraudulent activity on my XXXX XXXX account. I've reached out over and over. Every single time I get someone on the phone, I have to explain the situation all over again. Each rep promises to investigate and get back to me, or escalate to upper management. I don't hear back from them. They reported my account 60 days late and my score across all bureaus took a 40+point dive each. I've called and complained and each time they promise to get back with me within the week, but I never hear back from them. Every investigation reported concludes that it's individual responsibility, even though they have definitive proof it wasn't me who made the purchases. I'm currently making the minimum monthly payment to protect my credit. I've been paying on this account since before the fraud was committed and I'm tired of paying for purchases plus interest, someone else made. I asked about consumer protection and fraud liability that's suppose to be automatic, yet they allowed info on my account to be changed including personal address and payment account number. They won't fix the problem. Instead they lie and string me along and i Personally feel like they're going to drag this out until I end up paying the bill in full then close my account. They told me to keep making the minimum payment and once the investigation was done, I'd be refunded any money I paid in. This was of course after they reported my account being 60 days late which was a result of fraud as well. they also promised to remove that but it's still showing on my credit report. I feel helpless and out of options. I'm not sure what else can be done except take them to court.
