Consumer Narrative

I purchased football tickets for {$980.00} using my Macy 's Amex from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The event was on XX/XX/XXXX. One week before the game I had still not received the tickets, so I called XXXX to have them issued. I sat on hold for over two hours and was informed I had to wait until at least three days prior to the event, but that I should have them in the next 6 hours. Fast forward to two days prior to the event - still no tickets. Once again I got back on the phone, sat for another two hours, and was told I would be receiving them via email within the next four hours. Twenty-four hours, later and one day before the event, I still had not received any tickets. I had family coming into town to attend the event with me and it was imperative I receive the tickets before the game. Friday morning, the day before the game, I sit on hold again and once again was told I would be receiving them within a few hours. Nothing ever came through. I called Macy 's Amex to report the fraud and informed them I never received the tickets, the game was less than 24 hours away, and I will be purchasing tickets from another vendor -please dispute this charge. I made the purchase of the new tickets on the same card immediately after that phone call. They ensured me they would take care of it as I had never received what I paid for. My account was credited {$980.00}, until XX/XX/XXXX, when the charge reappeared on my credit card statement. I called to dispute it again and they assured me it would be credited. I have multiple emails, multiple faxes, and phone calls to Macy 's Amex to get this {$980.00} fraudulent charge removed from my credit card to no avail. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and the charge has still not been removed. Their reason- the ticket was non-refundable and the circumstances surrounding the charge offer no recourse to recover funds. Ultimately, they reversed the fraudulent charge the first time and allowed XXXX XXXX to recharge the card in XXXX. This is illegal and needs to be fixed immediately. I have been a customer for over fifteen years and have never disputed a charge. It was reported before the event happened, and XXXX XXXX should be held accountable for their fraudulent activities, along with Macy 's Amex for allowing the fraud. I hesitated to submit this as I am sure it will cause retaliation with a credit limit cut or closed card, but I refuse to be bullied into paying for something I did not receive.
