Please see attachments. Reference : XXXX XXXX Acct # XXXX XX/XX/2022 Late Charges To Whom This May Concern : I was accessed a late fee of {$42.00} for my XX/XX/2022 mortgage payment. Ever since Carrington began servicing my home loan, I have paid my monthly mortgage via my bank Bill Pay feature ( see attached ). Both XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX fell on a weekend, outside banking business days ; XX/XX/XXXX was a Saturday and XX/XX/XXXX was a Sunday. Per my XX/XX/2022 statement Carrington stated Late charge full payment not received by XX/XX/2022 which was a Sunday. Neither Carrington nor my bank, XXXX, does business on a Sunday ; business days are Monday Friday. Furthermore, I made my online payment via my bank Bill Pay prior to XX/XX/XXXX. This never happened to me when I was with XXXX Mortgage for over 11 years. In addition, I found the below regarding mortgage payments when the due date falls on the weekend or on a federal holiday. All payments are effective dated for the scheduled date of the draft. For example, if you schedule a payment for the XXXX and the XXXX falls on a weekend or holiday the payment will be withdrawn the next business day. The payment will be effective dated back to the XXXX and a late fee will not be charged. If an online payment is scheduled on a weekend or bank holiday, the payment will be withdrawn on the next business day. All payments are effective dated for the scheduled date of the draft. For example, if you schedule a payment for the XXXX and the XXXX falls on a weekend or holiday the payment will be withdrawn the next business day. The payment will be effective dated back to the XXXX and a late fee will not be charged. Please explain why I was charged a late fee because my payment wasnt received by Sunday XX/XX/XXXX.
