XX/XX/2022, I made a payment to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from my checking account with Chase Bank. I made a second payment to the same payee later in the month, and it was returned. On investigating this with both Chase and with XXXX, I found out that I somehow had selected the wrong address for the payee. I went to the bank in person and watched the woman employed there call the same XXXX number I could call from home. She was unable to help in any way. I was told that they had proof of payment and that XXXX had cashed the check or received the payment, but XXXX had no such record. On calling back today, nearly a month later, and escalating to a supervisor, I learned that the payment went to a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX, who I had never heard of. I asked why XXXX XXXX XXXX had received a payment that appears in my account as having been paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX and never received a satisfactory answer. On calling XXXX XXXX XXXX, they tell me that the payment from XX/XX/XXXX should have been immediately rejected and the funds debited from my account reimbursed. They were not. XXXX XXXX XXXX does not appear to have my money. The proof of payment provided by Chase is meaningless to XXXX XXXX XXXX, and to XXXX XXXX. What is it proof of, exactly? I know the money left my account -- but where did it go? Several hours of my time was spent being transferred from department to department, and it took a *month* for a supervisor to tell me the money went to XXXX XXXX XXXX *after* having been told several times it was paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Chase has wasted an incredible amount of my time failing to appropriately track and handle my money. They owe me {$200.00} and their customer service is unable to live up to their obligation.
