Purchased XXXX netspend prepaid cards yesterday, yesterday on XX/XX/2022. Called XXXX Netspend customer service, last night to activate the cards and they were activated. Today I receive an email from netspend.com customer service that my cards ending in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are unable to be fully activated and are closed now. in store locally. On each card I deposited a sum of {$450.00} and there was a card activation fee of {$2.00} for each one as well. This is well over {$2000.00} that I spent on Netspend.com cards. I went home yesterday and went through the process of activating these cards and XXXX of the XXXX I was able to activate successfully. Netspend only allows XXXX active netspend cards per social security number and so when I attempted to activate the fifth card, I was prompted to call customer service to complete the activation of the last card. After waiting on hold for a customer service representative for over an hour, the representative attempted to activate my XXXX card, however she was unable to. She informed me that my account was locked and I'd have to send in the necessary documentation to XXXX in order to unlock my account. I sent in a picture of my active drivers license, social security card, and a utility bill as requested and awaited the reinstatement of my account. This afternoon, I received an email from Netspend corporation 's email that my accounts can not be activated and will be closed. I am unable to access the funds within my accounts totaling ( {$2200.00} ). And rather will have to wait almost two weeks for a check in the mail for my funds. This is unnacceptable as it is the begininning of the month, I have bills to pay, a start-up business that I am establishing and family to support. Not to mention, I never at any time violated Netspend 's terms of service for their cards and accounts! This is robbery to take over {$2000.00} from a customer for over two weeks and they have not even violated the terms of use for the services advertised. I am requesting immediate access to the funds within my cards so that I can withdraw them and cease from using Netspend.com services for the forseeable future.
