On XX/XX/2021 a Citibank credit card under my wife 's name was stolen. A fraudulent purchase worth {$2000.00} was done with this card, even though we immediately reported the theft to the bank and declined the purchase via text message. The bank erroneously claimed that the card was in our possession and charged us for this purchase on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/2021 I mailed to the bank 's security services office ample documentation showing that the card was stolen and not in our possession when this transaction occurred. This documentation includes phone and text records of our communications with the bank, as well as an email from the restaurant management acknowledging the theft. On XX/XX/2021 I received a letter from Citibank saying that they were " looking into the transaction ( s ) you disputed ''. I haven't heard from them since. It's almost seven months since then. I am attaching all of my documentation and the letters from Citibank in a PDF.
