On XX/XX/2022, I applied for a credit card with Macy 's Department Store. I have previously had a card that was paid in good standing. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Macys credit department and my application was declined. I called to get clarity and the lady told me you just did't qualify did I have bad credit. Well I would not have every thought I would be discriminated against. That question should not have been asked to me. I can fathom that Macy 's would train their associated to be so cruel and unprofessional. Based on the Fair Lending Laws and Regulations, I feel because I'm a minority and live around low income communities all of us XXXX XXXX have bad credit. I was not given an opportunity to explain my Bankruptcy on my credit report which I have established credit since being discharged or an alternate proof I could afford repayments. I was never provided a second chance especially when I had an account years ago and paid it in full and closed it in good standing.
