I have a Chase Freedom XXXX credit card. On XX/XX/XXXX, I booked 2 flights using their travel purchase portal. Trip IDs are 1 ) XXXX and 2 ) XXXX. Unfortunately, I broke 2 ligaments in my right foot because of which the doctor told me that I can not travel. So, I contacted Chase regarding this on XX/XX/XXXX. The customer care lady told me that since I made payments using my reward points, I will get the points back. However, I never got them back. Today, on XX/XX/XXXX, I called them back and none of them acknowledged this. They kept forwarding me to different departments and kept me on hold for over 5 hours ; without resolving the issue. They kept on re-iterating their standard refund policy that comes with the card and that I already knew about ; the 2 options being : 1 ) either file a claim online or 2 ) get airline credit that I will have to use in a year plus a rebooking fee of XXXX $ per trip ( making the credits essentially useless ). However, they were not able to help me with getting the reward points back which to me is the most convenient option.
