I called in XX/XX/2021 to cancel my account with Citi because I did not want to pay the annual fee ( {$95.00} ). The customer service agent on the phone offered to provide a credit in the amount of the annual fee, plus would provide XXXX points if I met a spending requirement. She phrased it as {$3000.00} over the course of three months. Citi did not send me any confirmation other than one that said that I would keep my account open. Two months later, I checked with Citi about this issue, because I had met the spending limit as explained to me. The agent, over Citi 's app, told me that the offer was not {$3000.00} over three months, but {$1000.00} per month for three months. And the point bonus was not XXXX but XXXX. It is possible that the agent I spoke to over the phone in XXXX was mistaken but I am not. I did not care that much about the points, though, and assumed I would be able to meet the required spending. This weekend I noticed that I had not received a {$95.00} credit. I checked with a Citi agent, who told me I had failed to meet the requirements. This is, for one, not true, because all my statements totaled over {$1000.00} since the start of the year. But it also is not true because I managed to spend {$3000.00} over three months as required by the original offer.
