I opened a checking account with chase bank. I deposited my payroll check. A few days later the check cleared and i made a few withdrawls over the next week. Chase then closed my account. With {$440.00} of my money still in the account. I was never given a clear reason of there closing. Everyone i talked to at chase bank gave me a different reason. I tried calling many different chase numbers to find out what is going on. All, led me nowhere. I went into my branch many times. Only to be treated as i did something wrong. And they would not give my money back. They tried to make me start a new account. Just to get my money back. The alternative the manager said, was to mail me my remaining funds in a check from chase. It would take 7 to 10 business days i was told. It never happened. They never mailed me my check. 7 months now. I get a call from chase bank fraud unit. Now, they say, my employers address on check i deposited was not the address of his company. I asked if rhat was ilegal. They said no. I asked if they have any evidence of fraud. They said no. I asked them to give me my money back. They said no. They asked me to get my now ex employer, to come into there bank to varify this address he has on his payroll checks. I told chase bank i do not work for you. And, i am the one in the middle here, suffering from all this. I told them at that time, i have been through to much stress over this thus far. You have broken the law in the time alotted to hold my money. I want my {$440.00} plus comensation now. They told me no. And said, when i get my ex employer to come in and varify what they want, then they will release my money.
