Chain of events On XX/XX/XXXX someone accessed my account fraudulently and tried to do two wire transfers for {$2500.00} and {$7500.00} ), one successfully ( the {$7500.00} one ), using money from my XXXX XXXX line of credit. My balance in my checking account at the time was approximately {$390.00} I reported the incident to Citibank immediately and to CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX after I heard nothing from Citibank On XX/XX/XXXX Citibank returned the {$7500.00} to my account, confirming it was due to a fraud Since XX/XX/XXXX I had no access to my accounts On XX/XX/XXXX I went to the XXXX XXXX, NJ branch and closed all my accounts. To my surprise, my available balance was not the original {$390.00} before the fraud, but a negative balance in my XXXX XXXX of around {$250.00} People at the branch told me I was supposed to receive a check for my original balance of {$390.00}. To date I heard nothing from Citibank It appears the disconnect is that the line of credit was charging me interests, which Citibank never refunded to me. * On XX/XX/XXXX, I wrote to Citibank, requesting the balance due.
