Consumer Narrative
I am a long time customer of Chase and I have a credit card with them that was used fraudulently. There were four charges made at XXXX around XX/XX/XXXX that I did not make. When I saw these charges I notified Chase about this and they did a dispute review for fraud. When the dispute was over they only gave me credit for one of the charges but not all four charges. This doesn't make sense to me, if all these charges were made on the same day at the same place ( XXXX ) how does Chase only agree one of these are fraud? This is also a credit card, per the terms and conditions when the credit card is used without my knowledge if I report it within a timely manor ( which I did ) they aren't supposed to hold me responsible. I also have XXXX so when the bank denied my fraud claim I got XXXX involved. We called Chase on XX/XX/XXXX, they said they will open another dispute, but also admitted to throwing out supporting documents that XXXX sent them on my behalf. This is so frustrating as a customer that Chase would throw out documents that come from them. I have signed off on Power of Attorney for XXXX to do follow-ups on my behalf and they have a copy of that, they aren't honoring the Power of Attorney or accepting documents from XXXX. Chase is also convinced that my child or husband is doing this. I assure they are not, they have their own cards to use, they don't use my account. Chase also doesn't understand that SKIMERS are out there to steal people 's account numbers and make counterfeit cards. Chase claims the chip was used for these purchases, therefore I did them, AND I DID NOT DO THIS. I am requesting this be documented and looked into further for unfair business and banking practices.
