I contacted Citibank credit cards about my Citi Prestige credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. I wanted to cancel my card due to the high annual fee but they offered me a retention promotion. They said several times I needed to spend {$4000.00} in 3 months by XX/XX/XXXX and I even gave the representative from the retention department an example where I said if I spend {$4000.00} tomorrow Ill qualify and she said yes, as long as its after today. After several billing cycles I noticed there was no credit so I reached out to the customer service via Citi mobile app on XXXX occasions. The first time, they told me the details of the promotion in writing, again not mentioning that it was PER MONTH. I followed up and got no response at all. After this I contacted them again and they told me I already received it when it was an unrelated offer regarding points and not the statement credit. Finally, I contacted them a third time and they said to call them but the department was closed. I dont know if Citi is systematically lying or it was this one representative but there might be some grounds for a class action lawsuit or something of that nature since Ive had to contact them on 7 occasions now and the issue seems purposefully misleading and unreasonably difficult. There may be thousands of people experiencing this. Im on the phone now and they are telling me since I didnt meet the requirements they cant credit me. This is unbelievable, I thought by manually contacting the department in charge I would be able to get it in the end. I kept this card account open and spent over {$11000.00} more due to deception
