Consumer Narrative

Fair Credit Reporting Act Complaint ChexSystems I made a complaint with ChexSystems regarding my name being reported on ChexSystems due to fraud. My name was on my sons account as an authorized user only and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX failed to give me the opportunity to dispute the false information denying me my fair opportunity according to Fair Credit Reporting ACT and fair consumer rights. ChexSystems representative told me that I would be taken off the report in 30 days because authorize users should not be reported. I was told to wait 30 days and send in information verifying that I was the authorized user, and they would remove me in 30 days. I sent in proof of me as an authorized user on documents for my file at ChexSystems. I waited 30 days and called in at that time to follow up on my removal from ChexSystems, which had resulted in my business account being closed at a major bank. I was very excited because losing my business account had hurt my ability to run my business and damaged my credibility to open another business account with another bank or my own credit union at XXXX XXXX I spoke to at least three representatives during time concerning my problem and no one told me exactly what it would take for me to produce documents to alleviate my condition or status on ChexSystems. I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with ChexSystems ' process of review and accuracy in producing any evidence that held me accountable for NSF on the account XXXX reported to them. There was no evidence because this was an error and should not have been allowed. I did not write, nor engage in any transactions of deposit or withdrawals in my sons account. Neither were any checks made out to me. I was only on the account in case of an emergency especially with what was happening in the pandemic. We wanted to make sure we had a contingency plan if something happened to one of us. XXXX. ChexSystems did not explore or examine or receive any factual information that proved I was correctly reported with the derogatory information. XXXX. ChexSystems did not tell me of documents that could be produced to reverse the miss reporting of my information. E.g. what I needed to give them directly. XXXX. ChexSystems differed in their response to me after waiting 30 days thinking I would be removed from their report because I was only an authorized user. This type of information should be accurate across the board with all representatives. XXXX. All representatives should be trained in the processes of what it takes to get consumers removed from ChexSystems. This accurate information makes it efficient for the consumer to produce what is needed the first time. Time is of the essence when your personal credit reporting at financial institutions is at stake with your name and credulity, as well as your business name and banking, which is your livelihood. Victims should be listened to and helped not just thrown under the bus because a piece of paper came in reporting something else. My business account was closed because of this identity theft and fraud.. XXXX. It is not fair to consumers to be held in virtual captivity with false information being reported on their personal reports that damages their lives. ChexSystems must do better in making sure that their processes are accurate and fair towards its consumers. If the party reporting does not have proper or accurate evidence that it is indeed the consumer debt, problems etc. Then it must produce it or ChexSystems should not place it on report. This should be done before putting negative information on a consumers report. No letter or notice was sent to me regarding this information being placed on my record before it was done. That was the time for the dispute to be given. This could avoid this problem now. I found out trying to place an alert on my name. In addition, this is my first bullet for the second portion. Please fill in what you suggest so I can merge both for all points we want to see resolved and I will edit and put in the report. Please respond right away as I don't want the report to time out.
