Original Creditor : Citibank NA Current Creditor : XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX In 2017 I was married and my then-spouse used my non-public personal information to open multiple credit cards, bank accounts, and other loans. One of these accounts was with Citibank Citi XXXX card. I was not aware of the debt until he defaulted on the card. When it was discovered, I immediately notified Citi of the spousal identity theft. They sold the debt to XXXX XXXX which is who I am filing this complaint on. I have completed their fraud packet no less than 4 times which is identical each time. When they receive it from me along with all of my documentation, they send the debt to a new sub-contracted collection agency to attempt to collect the debt again. You can never speak to anyone directly at XXXX. They are ignoring my fraud/identity theft packet and continuing to attempt to collect a debt that is not mine. This has been going on 5 years now.
