I was given an involuntary, unwanted upgrade on a rental car, resulting in a surprise, unauthorized additional charge on my credit card. Chase Bank says that because I received the service of the upgrade, even if it was involuntary and with no notice of approval of any additional charge, I am prohibited from disputing the charge. Moreover, the merchant effected fraud by purporting to show a document with my signature ; in fact, I made my signature on an electronic device that did not display the terms of the document the merchant produced. Chase likewise prohibits me from disputing the transaction upon this fraudulent representation of approval.
