I applied with a lender called First Mortgage direct to refinance my home. We provided all the paperwork and even paid for services like the appraisal. They advised us that our file will be going to underwriting. I was dealing with a man named XXXX XXXX. When days turned to a week, I reached out to find out the status and they told me that it is still under underwriting and that my DTI may be too high, but they will confirm with underwriting. This was strange because I'm virtually debt-free and make more than XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX dollars a year. I said ok, I'll wait for their update. Days turned to weeks as I virtually emailed and called almost everyone at the company. Turns out there are two reasons they stopped replying to me. One was XXXX motivation, as I started reading other reviews from other clients who had the same issues and were mostly XXXXXXXX XXXX and the other was that they knew rates were about to rise and since I had a rate lock it would cost them money. I decided to go with another lender. Now that I need them to transfer the appraisal I paid for, to my current lender, they are still not answering my calls or emails.
