On Friday, XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, I received a phone call from chase bank alerting me that a wire transfer for a large sum seemed unusual activity for my account was initiated. They asked me to confirm if that was me and I said NO, it wasnt me. Chase Bank asked me personal information regarding my account and I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor for clarity. They transferred me to a supervisor. The phone number matched the same phone number on the back of my Chase Bank Card so I was not immediately suspicious, as I thought I was speaking with my bank. I was directed to take steps to reverse the wire transfer. During this time a wire transfer in the amount of XXXX was taken out of my account. I called Chase Bank right away and was directed to fraud protection, they advised me to recall the wire transfer. So I did as directed. The representative for the bank told me I was not to worry and I would be in the clear stating the transaction was still pending and these transfers take XXXX. to process. At this time it was XXXX Friday and the local branches were closed. I called the follow up phone number included on a Chase email confirming the fraudulent wire and I was put on hold for 50minutes before trying desperately to intercept my money. First thing Saturday morning, XX/XX/XXXX, I went into Chase bank and filed a claim, I also filed a local police report. I had no support from chase regarding this matter all weekend. By the time chase initiated a recall or a reverse on the wire, the fraudsters were long gone with the my money. Chase also did not call me to verify this unusual transfer when it was pending, someone, other than me called Chase and told them my private information and they passed these so called high risk security questions. Chase themselves were scammed into thinking it was me. Chase did not call me directly for me to verify an unusual wire transfer, never. They haphazardly accepted a security call in from someone that was absolutely not me, and not from the primary phone number to process this fraudulent wire transfer. Unacceptable/unreliable verification procedures on Chase Banks behalf has allowed criminals to get away with over {$20000.00} of my hard earned money. They have a recording of the fraudulent persons whom pretended to be me and passed my security questions in real time to a Chase Bank representative as they authorized the fraudulent transfer. When I asked for those records they refused and basically told me that I allowed this to happen and that I benefited from this fraudulent activity. Statement from Chase : " We are denying your claim because we determined that the item ( s ) being disputed were authorized or you received benefit from the item ( s ). '' Chase Bank takes zero accountability and puts all the blame on me.
