Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/2022 I was alerted to a {$6000.00} withdrawal made from a savings account I did not recognize ending in " XXXX ''. Upon logging into my Chase Bank app, I discovered a second savings account that was linked to my legitimate checking and savings account. Someone transferred {$9100.00} from my savings account into the one ending in " XXXX '', and then withdrew {$6000.00} using an electronic check ( E-Teller ). They also withdrew {$740.00} from an ATM at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX New York. I live and work in XXXX, Ohio. Upon calling Chase, they initiated a claim for XXXX when I specifically stated that XXXX was withdrawn, followed by a XXXX withdrawal. They denied my claim at XXXX XXXX on Sunday, XX/XX/2022 by sending a robo-response letter. When I called on Monday, they stated that no one attached the XXXX withdrawal to my ID theft claim. I have done everything they have asked me to do, and I continue to get the run-around from representatives. My next course of action if this XXXX and XXXX amount is not promptly returned to me will be to contact my attorney. The fact that Chase allowed someone to put me as a secondary user on a savings account without my knowledge, allow that person to transfer most of my savings without my knowledge, and then withdraw those funds without my knowledge is completely unacceptable.
