Last month was contacted regarding a loan approval and wanted online banking information ; I declined and hung up. Today XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX called from Lending Point XXXX to tell me my loan application was moved to their unsecured department and was approved and needed to verify my bank information to send deposit. I had applied for many loans and he sounded legit, I even looked up the company online as we were talking. I agreed to give him the info as he confirmed he was just taking a screen shot and I could change my passwords afterwards. I was then transferred to XXXX at direct line XXXX ext XXXX to go over terms. Was told a good faith deposit would be deposited and I would then send back to them and the entire loan amount would be credited within 45 minutes. I got off phone and felt odd about it so I called the number from the website. They are in GA and couldn't find an account for me. Then I get a call back questioning why I changed my password before funds were deposited and he wanted to send the verification by cashapp. That deposit failed ( from $ XXXX ). Yes, I felt it was wrong but I'm in a financial bind now I feel I should cancel both my checking accounts, one I gave them online banking info for and the one linked to my cXXXXp as well as get a new XXXX. XXXX 's ext was XXXX.
