I reached out to the collection company, Portfolio Recovery, in XXXX to obtain information about the debt and contest it because dates and charges did not make sense to me. Instead of removing suspicious charges ALL MADE BEFORE XXXX they falsified reporting on the debt to reflect that it was opened in XXXX so that it would stay on my record longer. This is 100 % a lie. This debt is at least XXXX XXXX XXXX and should soon be falling off my record soon but wont because of falsified reporting done by Portfolio Recovery. I never admitted to ownership of the debt or talked about repayment when I contacted them in XXXX so the debt should not have been restarted at that time.
