On XX/XX/2022 my Chase banking account got restricted because of a check I deposited online for {$5000.00} from my father who passed away. The check was not counterfeit and there was no issue with it. I reached out to chase support team and got transferred to the restriction team, they had me verify the check through the check makers phone number. They got ahold of them and everything was verified. They proceeded to tell me that they could not unrestrict my account until my check cleared the next day. So the next day it cleared, I called back and they went through the process of verifying but this time saying the phone number didnt match, but it was the phone number on the check and the same phone number they called the previous day and verified with. Then by the end of the call they told me they made the decision to close my account and hung up. I called repeatedly and got the same response with no way to unrestrict my account. Ive had the maker of the check go into their own branch to verify it, Ive done everything I could. Now my account will close in 10 days and I have no access to my account or funds over something I have no control over. I wont be able to pay bills or for food for 10+ because my account is restricted for no reason. And the final call I made today on XX/XX/2022, they told me chase can close an account without having to give a reason. I have absolutely no idea what to do and now Im stressing and panicking over how Im going to pay for things when I havent done anything wrong.
