We sold our home at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I personally took all of the XXXX equipment to the store located at XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX to return and requested the account be closed. The account was in good standing at the time and I even paid the bill that came due on XX/XX/XXXX for {$240.00}. I received late payment notices from XXXX starting after XX/XX/XXXX stating I was past due for XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted XXXX a total of ( 5 ) Five times between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Three time in person at the store ( including the original return of equipment date on XX/XX/XXXX and two times by phone ). During one of the two times by phone I received a " ticket '' number XXXX from the XXXX representative on the phone and was told the account would be updated and closed per my initial contact on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received another statement in the mail stating I was now past due for the months of XXXX and XXXX, XXXX. I went back to the XXXX store located at XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and informed the XXXX representative of the situation. He pulled the account up and informed he corrected it and showed it closed per XX/XX/XXXX. I left the store and received an email about 10 minutes later from XXXX showing where the account was closed, but dated XX/XX/XXXX and NOT XX/XX/XXXX. I returned to the store and spoke with the same representative, again, and he assured me he specifically put in the notes for the account to be closed XX/XX/XXXX. I now learned as of XX/XX/XXXX, that XXXX has turned me over collections. I am disputing this claim. I have documentation showing where the house was sold on XX/XX/XXXX and we moved into a new home the same day. This is absolutely ridiculous. I did everything required to close the account and still not resolved. I have also filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have attached a copy of the closing paperwork on our house located at the residence where service was provided relation to the bill and also a copy of one of the " XXXX ticket '' numbers I received during one of the 5 conversations with XXXX representatives.
