I signed up for the Southwest Chase credit card when I was prompted to at checkout on Southwest 's website. The promotion was about a {$200.00} statement credit after first purchase, and then a miles promotion after spending xyz amount in the first few months. I was most interested in the {$200.00} statement credit, which shouldn't have an expiration date, according to the fine print. I got my card back in XXXX, paid the annual fee, but haven't had a reason to use the card until now ( booking flights ). I called a Chase representative to ask about my {$200.00} credit and she claimed I never had the promotional offer in the first place. I know this happens to a lot of people and I feel a little ridiculous falling into the trap, but for a company as big as Chase and Southwest, it seems absolutely ridiculous they can get away with this. I would cancel the card, but I don't want to ruin my credit score.
