In XX/XX/2019, I received a call from Citibank about my mortgage. The lender offered to improve my rate, reducing the rate init from the current fixed rate mortgage. He started the process without any signature, and when I received all the documentation in my house, I realized that the rate was fixed for a shorter period. I wasn't interested at all. I called him and wrote to him to honor our conversation or stop the process. I told him not to do the appraisal. I suppose he forgot it and didn't stop it. The bank charged {$1000.00} for the non-authorized assessment one week later. As of today, I am an excellent Citibank client, and I have allowed them to refund the money and solve the issue. Nobody has wanted to take responsibility for that, and after XXXX years of brach visits, calls and emails I decided to present this complaint. The lender tried to lie to me about the maturity of the mortgage. Later, despite being a Citibank employee, he introduced me to his wife, an independent mortgage broker. Finally, he sent me an appraiser, and he didn't refund the cost. Of course, the Citibank lender had a wrong behavior and made a mistake, but Citibank should have solved this problem immediately.
