We opened a checking and saving account with citi bank in XX/XX/XXXX. They had a promotion that would deposit {$700.00} to our checking account after three months under certain conditions. We satisfied these conditions. However, after three months, in XXXX they closed our checking account without even notifying us. In XX/XX/XXXX, we contacted them asking about the {$700.00} promotion credit, they said that they tried to deposit it but our account was closed ( they closed it without our knowledge ). They asked us to open another account so that they can deposit {$700.00} again. However, more than 5 weeks passed and nothing happened. When we contacted them, their response was it is going to take a while. At this point, we havent received the credit yet. We believe that the citi bank is mistreating the customers by promising a promotional credit, then closing the customers account so that the promotional credit can not be deposited. During this whole process, we were not notified at all by the bank. Please investigate this behavior. Thank you.
