I opened a citibank credit card about 2 months ago with the acquisition offer of 80,000 thank you point if I make purchase of 4000 dollars in the first 3 months. I have been trying to reach the 4000 dollars in orders to get the initial sign up bonus. however, I have experienced a lot of difficulties of using the credit card. Specifically I have been declined 5 times in the past 30 days which worth more than 1500 dollars purchase when I tried to use the credit card. Every time, after I get declined, I tried to reach out to Citibank to get the fraud/ security alert removed. But because Citibank already declined by transaction, so I have to use my other credit cards to pay for it, therefore there is literally no way for me to reach to the 4000 dollars in order to get the 80,000 thank you point. I have made more than 3500 dollars, and it is getting impossible to reach to the 4000 dollars now because Citibank keeps declining my transactions, and called this is security reason. Everytime when I tried to call citibank, I was asked to verify my citibank checking account information. But my citibank checking account has been closed for a long time, and it doesn't even show up on my citiibank online portal., how could I be able to answer the account number question of the account that been closed for a long time? isn't this crazy? What I need from citibank ; 1. even though i have not reached to the XXXX000 dollars spending requirement yet, because i am getting super close to the 4000 dollars, and plus citibank keeps declining my transaction, there is no way for me to meet the requirement. I want 80,000 thank you point to be granted to me right now. 2. i need citibank to review why they still show my checking account as that account has been closed for a long time. this account should NOT be used for account security verfication/ authentication purpose. 3.I told rep that I could verify my cell phone, my credit card info, my SSN, home address, and all the other info on my account, but I don't have related account info with me,, the rep just can not proceed further. i personally find this is ridiculously, this is suggesting that i am being punished by having multiple products with citibank. if this is the case, maybe to make it easier, I should just stop doing business with you guys all together.
