The debt collector is enacting a levy on my XXXX XXXX XXXX checking account which the debt is older than the statute of limitations under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) in New York. New York State recently passed the Consumer Credit Fairness Act which primarily changes the statute of limitations ( SOL ) from 6 years to 3 years for all collection lawsuits. I also havent receive any information about the debt theyre attempting to collect.
