XX/XX/XXXX, my husband and I applied for an apartment with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. We paid our fees and awaited for a response. I called 3 days later, with no update. The next day, I called and was told that my my husband and I were denied. We did not have any derogatory information on our credit and our credit was much higher than the credit score required. We were in the mid 600s and the requirement was 550. There also was never a credit report pulled. I called and updated the apartment and asked how could we had been denied, if a report was never ran. They never responded after multiple contacts. We applied at another apartment with a higher score requirement and received immediate approval. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call saying they were trying to collect a debt. I asked the agent to please explain how i owed. She said it was leftover move out fees. I explained that I never stayed or moved in so how are we owed a balance? She got rude with me and threatened that she will just put it down that I am refusing to pay the debt. This was a recorded call. I explained to her that Im not refusing anything but am asking for a verification of the debt. The call ended and today, I go to look at my credit report and there is the collection. This is illegal and the tactics of IQ DATA INTERNATIONAL IN are inhumane. They still cant prove how I owe this money to them when they never ran a report. I called over a month leaving messages with the main office and no one called me back. I reported it on XXXX and they responded saying that it was due to my credit but again, my credit was never pulled.
