Consumer Narrative

My credit was dropped by XXXX points related to a mistake that Chase made in accordance with " The Fair Credit Reporting Act ''. I spoke with Chase on XXXX, at that time the representative told me that the 60 day late fee was an error and that they would send a letter to me for my records and remove it from my credit report. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called again twice to see when I would receive this letter and and the correction to my credit report. They could not see a late payment and assured me that this was an error on Chase 's end. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called again and spoke with a man in the Credit Reporting department. He informed me that there was a late payment, and that he could not assist in removing it. On XX/XX/XXXX, a Credit Law Litigator informed Chase was not following the Fair Debt Collections Act, The Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair & Accurate Credit Transaction Act, nor the Federal Trade Commission rules. It was required that Chase contact me, which they did not, that they send letters- which they did not, and that they can not continue to charge me fees when attempting to withdrawal from an unused account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke with XXXX in Chase 's Credit Reporting department, she stated that letters were mailed XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. She stated that these letters were mailed and when I told her that they were not, she stated that she would mail them to me. I then asked for a supervisor. I spoke then with XXXX in Credit Reporting department, who stated that no letters were mailed and that no calls were placed. She then hung up on me at XXXX. I then called back asking to speak to someone that handles complaints, I spoke with XXXX, who noted my compliant but did nothing to resolve the issue. At this time, per the litigator, I told them that we would be seeking punitive damages, all court costs as they admitted multiple times on a recorded line, statutory damages and attorney fees as is allowed.
