Consumer Narrative

On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased at BestBuys an item for {$1600.00} with no interest for 24 months. On XX/XX/XXXX, this free interest expired. On XX/XX/XXXX, I realized something was wrong because my current balance which is also for purchases I made with no interest was approximately {$1000.00} more than I expected/calculated. I called the credit card company and they explained that on XX/XX/XXXX when the 24 month interest was due on the purchased back in XXXX, and payment was short by {$1.00} and therefore, the accrued interest in the amount of {$1000.00} was applied. I was shocked! as this was not what I expected. I had made all my payments on time, never late and continued making my payments on time and for more to avoid the interest. I was told that they give 20 days grace period to review and request a waiver. That it was to late to even try to request that waive. I had not idea. I thought I had calculated and set my payment to be automatically paid from my checking account. They most had continued receiving payments every 15 days, so they should had received about 15 days later a payment for {$65.00}, and another {$65.00} 15 days later after that, and so on, until XX/XX/XXXX when I paid a larger amount to avoid paying late the next no interest purchase I had made and was due on XX/XX/XXXX. I unfortunately did not pay attention to the interest accrued that was applied back in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX looking into my bank statement and making sure my payments were made is when I realized what had happened. I immediately contacted the credit card and pleaded to have those removed as I thought {$1000.00} in interest was unreasonable just because of {$1.00} short in payment for XX/XX/XXXX. They just continued saying how sorry they were but there was nothing they could do and that was that!. I asked to speak with supervisor and they put me on hold just to tell me that they will put in complaint but there may not be a response from them. Also, I am realizing now that I have been charged interest at 29 % on the interest that was accrued. I need help, please!!
