On XX/XX/XXXX I opened a checking account with Citibank with the advertisement that if requirements are met, I will receive 50k miles bonus to my XXXX XXXX account. Here is the ad : o First, open a new Checking Account between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ( Offer Period ). o Second, enroll in the Member XXXX XXXX More Checking Offer on the same day you open your new Checking Account pursuant to the instructions provided. o Third, complete Qualifying Purchases2 with your Citibank Debit or ATM Card corresponding to the Checking Account Package requirement in the Chart below within 60 days after the Eligible Checking Accounts Account Opening Date ; The maximum amount of bonus miles credited will be based on your Checking Account Package on the XXXX calendar day after the Account Opening Date and completion of the Required Activities ( see Chart below ). o Fourth, make 1 or more Qualifying Bill Payments3 for 2 consecutive calendar months within 60 days of the Checking Accounts Account Opening Date. o Fifth, to remain eligible, your Checking Account must remain open and in good standing from the time its opened until you receive your Bonus. Your AAdvantage Bonus miles will be credited to your AAdvantage account within XXXX calendar days from the date you complete all Required. On line # 4 you will see that it states complete 3 bill payments from this account. During the 60day period, I paid multiple bills of mine through this checking account. On multiple occasions once the 60day period is done, I asked where the bonus miles were and they said I didnt qualify. According to Citibank, I had to do set up the bill pay through their website or app. If you read line 4 there is nowhere does it say that it had to be set up through their website as this can be interpeted as just paying bills from this checking account. I have tried to work with them and have not been successful. I have explained that they can not not honor this promotion when it is their wording of the ad that is not clear.
