Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/XXXX at about XXXX PM I noticed a charge to Remitly in the amount {$2800.00}, I called the number online for Chase bank and told the man that answered it was unauthorized and it was 100 percent fraud. He told me the Fraud Dept was closed and to call them first thing in the morning and suggested I call Remitly at the number listed on the transaction. I did call Remitly and didn't get anywhere, I actually was put on hold for awhile until I hung up, The next morning XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the Chase branch in XXXX XXXX WV and reported it to XXXX XXXX whom called the Fraud Dept herself. I had the debit card in my possession and XXXX XXXX cut it up herself. She stated the bank would be depositing the money back in my account within XXXX hours but it actually took a few days. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email that a message was available to read within my account. It read that Chase was going to remove the {$2800.00} on XX/XX/XXXX that my claim was denied stating their investigation showed I authorized the said amount when clearly I did not. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the number on the email and talked to a XXXX XXXX at Chase she informed me If I went to the bank branch and signed some papers and had the bank fax it to her the money wouldn't be taken out and also suggested I file a police report. As soon as I hung up with her, I went to the Chase branch in XXXX XXXX and talked to XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX called the XXXX XXXX and argued with them I reported in a timely fashion and they told her their records showed they called my cell phone and I said it was OK. Chase never called my cell phone and talked to me and I have requested the records from that night from the phone company to prove this and will submit them when I receive them. XXXX XXXX said the bank didn't have any such papers to fax and said the Fraud Dept would be mailing me papers for me to dispute their claim. XXXX XXXX also told me I needed to file a police report. So I did go and file a police report when I left the bank. I have never received any dispute papers from Chase. All I received was what was emailed to me and I requested a copy of all documents relating to their denial. All it said was due to transactions. I have never sent a wire transfer to anyone or had any business with this company called XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I stopped by the Chase XXXX in XXXX XXXX to let XXXX XXXX know I filed a police report and she informed me per Chase that she couldn't communicate with me anymore, that I had to call Chase directly. Federal Law states I'm not responsible for Fraudulent transactions. I reported the theft to Chase within hours of it happening, reported it to the branch the next day and filed a police report .I want the {$2800.00} that was stolen by Chase replaced back in my checking account immediately.
