I opened a checking account with Chase in XXXX, primarily so I could have a local branch for cash deposits and withdrawals. I transferred {$10000.00} into the account, with the intention to withdraw most of the money quickly to pay a contractor. However, I was never able to withdraw that money. The bank held the money in the account, but I could not withdraw it or transfer it because I had not yet received a debit card. I spent more than 5 hours, including multiple customer service calls and two branch visits, to try to find a solution to this problem, but I was unable to resolve it. This caused a hardship because I was unable to withdraw that money elsewhere to pay the contractor. A few weeks after having that resolved, I discovered that my Chase checking account had been closed without warning. I still have received no notice from the bank, nor have I received the funds that were in the account. Further, when I call Chase, the only department that can answer my questions has a 2+ hour wait time, which I can't afford.
