On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I made inquiries on the exchange rate offered at XXXX ATMS and withdrew funds [ only ] from a third ATM while on travel in the country XXXX. On my checking account electronic record, I see instead that all XXXX ATMS recorded the withdrawl of funds. It is clear that only XXXX of these was a legitimate charge as international ATM withdrawls always show the exchange rate used and have a foreign exchange rate adjustment fee associated. The legitimate charge had these ; the XXXX inquiries show a withdrawl of funds but had neither echange rate information nor an exchange rate adjustment fee. I complained to my bank ( Chase ) and they provisionally withdrew those XXXX fraudulent changes, only to reinstitute them weeks later. I spoke to Chase bank and my local Chase bank representative spoke repeatedly to supervisors requesting the withdrawl of those charges, without success. Chase said they look like legitimate charges, and had the audacity to suggest that perhaps all XXXX banks pooled their fees to create the single Foreign Transation Fee recorded - something they are capable of knowing is not the case. It is clear that Chase made a mistake, I have lost funds to fraud, and Chase is unwilling to examine their erroneous judgement. My CHase branch officers are as surpised as I at the attitude of central officers in this case. THe case would be reopened, they said, if I offered more proof but there is no other, and no better, proof than my checking account statement, which they have in hand.
