On XX/XX/XXXX I requested that Chase Bank pay my rent via their online payment services by mailing the check to my Management Company. The check was not received by the landlord. Chase Bank credited my account for the full amount while they investigated. I reissued a new check for the full amount. Upon review I saw that the original check had in fact been cashed, however it was not endorsed and therefore should never have been allowed to have funds released against it. It was also made out by CHASE to the landlord corporate account. Chase then sent me an email on XX/XX/XXXX saying that they had finished their investigation and that the check had been issued as per my instructions!! This is absurd. My rent was NOT paid to my landlord as instructed. Chase then reversed the credit and DEDUCTED the full amount from my account. I submitted another complaint and I am now told after hours of phone calls, Chase visits to the local branch and major anxiety that the check was cashed by a XXXX XXXX and that CHASE had released the funds to XXXXXXXX XXXX I in turn must wait 30 - 90 days while Chase request that XXXX XXXX reimburse them the full amount and only then can I get my money back from Chase. I told the representative that I don't understand why am I out of pocket because of fraud that has been allowed to be committed by TWO banks ... XXXX XXXX and Chase both banks allowed an UNENDORSED check to slip through their systems and yet I am the only person who is paying for the mistake. I have been blown off by the bank, ignored and frustrated by their lack of customer service and understanding in this matter. They even refused to credit my account again until they recoup the money from XXXX XXXX as they tell me this is a different kind of claim from the initial claim. Even though NONE of this is my doing. I really hope that they are hold accountable for the fraud committed with their help. I am at a loss. I hope you can help me recover my months rent asap. I am interested to see if anyone else has been put in this position. Thank you
