On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX I noticed a hard inquiry on my credit report from Chase Bank. I did not authorize this inquiry. I called Chase bank to report the fraud. After sitting on hold for an hour and a half, I spoke with someone who told me the credit card application the inquiry was related to had been flagged for fraud. He said that Chase bank would close the card application, remove the inquiry, and then send me a letter confirming they had done so. Instead, however, Chase sent a letter to my home address but addressed to the person who'd applied for the fraudulent card saying that her request for a " a new Chase sapphire Visa signature account '' was not approved because " This is a duplicate application. '' Then, on XX/XX/XXXX, Chase put a NEW fraudulent hard inquiry on my credit report DESPITE my report of fraud the previous week.
