On or about XX/XX/2021, to JP Morgan Chase & Co. credit, notified me via text of a potential fraudulent charge ( see attached text messages ). The text prompted me to respond Yes if it was a legitimate charge or No if it was not legitimate. I responded No and received a message thanking me and advising that my card was closed and I would receiving a replacement card. In spite of having notified JP Morgan that the charge was fraudulent, JP Morgan proceeded to allow additional similar ( almost identical ) charges to the point my account was left with no funds. The response from JP Morgans fraud department to my claim was very generic. Essentially stating that I authorized the charges. Based on the CFPBs XX/XX/2021, updated guidance, unauthorized efts include those transactions resulting from consumers being fraudulently induced into knowingly providing account access to bad actors. I was a victim in this case. After the initial response, an attorney agreed to write a demand letter free of charge, as I can not afford a retainer to recover funds that are less than a retainer. The response in response to the demand letter now states that the bank emailed me and that I supposedly authorized the charges via email. I have no emails, this was done by text message.
