I closed my business checking account with Citibank on XX/XX/21 via the phone. Citibank claims to have mailed me a check. It never came. I called Citibank to alert them. They said they would issue a replacement check. The replacement check never came. Two lost checks in the mail seems suspicious. After numerous phone calls, and one month later, I arranged to pick up the funds at the local branch. It was explained to me that in order for me to pick up the monies at the branch, they would have to cancel the second check ( apparently, they canceled the initial check in order to issue the second check ), in order to transfer money to the branch 's general ledger, so I could in fact pick up the monies. I repeatedly asked for documentation -- copies of the two canceled checks -- as of today, I have yet to receive. While I did finally receive my funds, two loose checks are floating around with my name on it. I would like proof -- documentation -- that those two checks were canceled. Citibank is a finial institution that is supposed to keep accurate records. I am not sure why they refuse to share with me proof that they mailed the two checks. Right now, they are claiming that the XXXX Postal Service lost the mail -- yet, they refuse to provide docmentiaon that the checks were ever issued. Please provide a copy of the canceled checks, and a copy of the actual checks.
